How do I login?

When you are off-campus and access databases or link to an online item within the Library Catalog, you will be asked to enter your DSU Network Username and Password.

The login page will look like the photo below. After completing login, you will reach the online resource you initially selected.

Username: The DSU Network Username is a shortened version of your name and differs from your email address. See the screen capture below for an example.  To find your username, login to DSU Account Management at MyDSU.

Password: Use the same password that you use for your DSU email account.

How do I find my DSU Username?

To look up your account on the DSU website:

  1. Go to: http://mydsu.dsu.edu.
  2. Click on "Manage My Account."
  3. From there you will find your DSU Network Username.

Troubleshooting Off-Campus Access

  1. If you get an error similar to "Secure Connection Failed" or "ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR" when trying to log in, try the following steps:
    • Try to access the resource through a different browser (Firefox is the most recommended).
    • Turn off any VPNs and browser extensions you have.
    • Make sure your browser and computer system have the latest updates installed.
    • Clear your browser's cache (all of it and not just the last 24 hours).
    • Clear your computer's SSL state.

  2. If you have problems logging in but do not get an error like the one above, verify that your password does not exceed 30 characters and update it if necessary.

  3. If the above steps do not resolve the issue, Contact DSU Librarians for assistance. Please include as much information as possible including:
    • Screenshots of error messages
    • The browser(s) you are using

How to Clear Cache & SSL Slate

Clearing the Cache:

  • Clearing your browser's cache will differ depending on which browser you use:
    • For Chrome users, navigate to the three dots in the upper righthand corner of your browser, click on "Delete browsing data" and set the time range to "All Time."
    • For Firefox users, navigate to the three bars icon in the upper righthand corner of your browser, click on Library<History<Clear Recent History. Have the "Active Logins" box checked.

For IOS users, clearing your browser's cache will clear the SSL state as well, so refer to the instructions above. For Windows users, you'll need to clear your state within the system's operating settings:
    • Click on the Windows icon and search for "Internet Options." Navigate to Content and then click on "Clear SSL state."

*Be sure to restart your computer and browser after clearing.
