Classify Print Periodicals
Groups will:
- Examine print periodicals assigned to group
- Use the Magazine - Journal Continuum table to determine whether each periodical is scholarly, technical/trade, substantial news / general interest, or popular
- Will be able to explain the decisions they made based on the criteria in the Scholarly to Popular Table
- Report the decisions and explanations to the class as a whole and be able to defend the decisions
Classify Online Articles
Individuals will:
- Examine a set of electronic periodical articles assigned to them
- Use the Scholarly to Popular Table to determine whether each periodical is scholarly, technical/trade, substantial news / general interest, or popular
- Will report the decisions to the group and to the full class and be able to explain the decisions made based on the criteria in the Scholarly to Popular Table
