When you download EndNote desktop, it will install an EndNote tab on ribbon of your Word menu. This provides a highly efficient integration allowing you to cite references while writing.
It is possible to use EndNote while using Google Drive. The process will require additional steps.
Step 1: In Endnote, highlight the citation(s) you would like to insert into your Google Doc.
Step 2: Drag and drop the highlighted citations into the appropriate location in your Google Doc.
Step 3: Save your completed Google Doc as Rich Text Format (i.e. .rtf) file.
Step 4: From Endnote, select Tools→Format Paper→Format Paper. Select your unformatted .rtf file
Step 5: In Endnote from the "Format Paper" dialog box, select the citation "Output Style" you want for your formatted paper and then select the "Format..." button at the bottom of the box. In the "Save as..." window, choose where you would like to save the file along with a file name. Save the file and you are done!
